What is methanol?
Methanol is a colourless liquid which is poisonous in nature. It should not be consumed directly, as it is used in industrial processing. This liquid is highly volatile. Methanol chemical formula is CH3OH. This liquid is also called methyl alcohol, wood alcohol. This liquid is produced by hydrogenation of hydrogen monoxide. This substance is the mixture of hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon.
Fruits like apples, vegetables, soft drinks, and juices (brandy) contains small proportion of methanol.
This substance was discovered in the year by 1661 by Robert Boyle, later studied in detail in the year 1831.
Uses of Methanol
